Passing the Torch

Passing the Torch

Dear friends and supporters, warm greetings from Mongolia!

With a thankful heart and a sense of new beginnings, I want to share an important update with you.

For many years, I have had the privilege of serving as pioneer and co-founder of Sergelt Ood, including the early years spent developing the work that eventually became Sergelt Ood, taking part in many roles alongside our board, staff, and supporters. After journeying together in this work, I am now stepping back from active involvement, trusting God to lead me into a new season and to guide the next chapter for the organization.

Passing the Torch

I am pleased to share that Adji Sudarmaji from Indonesia will be taking on my responsibilities on the Sergelt Ood board, including treasurer and main fundraising duties, as well as international communications. Working alongside the largely local team and board, he will help maintain continuity, governance, and local ownership as Sergelt Ood continues to carry forward its vision and mission.

While I am stepping back, I will remain engaged as a co-founder and continue to support the organization wherever possible. I am deeply grateful for the dedication of the board and staff (past and present), and trust that, under God’s guidance, they will continue leading the organization with care. With your ongoing support, I feel encouraged and hopeful about Sergelt Ood’s future and the difference it will continue to make in the lives of those we serve.

A Note of Thanks

It is difficult to put into words how much your support has meant over the years. You have stood with the work through challenges and breakthroughs alike, and your encouragement and prayers have sustained both the ministry and me personally in ways I will always carry with me.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your trust, partnership, and support. I can honestly say that without it, I would have given up many times along the way. You have been, and I hope will remain, an essential part of this work and its impact on the people we serve.

Looking Ahead

My prayer is that Sergelt Ood will continue developing into a deeply rooted, Mongolian-led ministry, growing in stability and bringing lasting hope and transformation to those most in need. May God be pleased and glorified in all that is done, and may He continue to bless, guide, and sustain the work in the years to come.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. I am deeply grateful, and I hope that our paths will continue to cross in the future!

With gratitude and God’s blessings,

Corrie van der Esch
Co-founder Sergelt Ood
